Comal ISD Classlink Announces New Principals and Assistant Principals

The Comal ISD Classlink app is an online portal to the district and its schools. The app provides personalized information and news about the district and schools. It also offers a centralized location to access the district’s calendar and other important information. It is also designed to be simple to use.

Makisha Keith is an assistant principal at the Ninth Grade Center

Makisha Keith, a native of San Marcos, is the new assistant principal at the Ninth Grade Center. She previously taught at San Marcos CISD as a business education teacher. This year, she is serving as an academic coach for Judson ISD, and has also been an English language learning teacher in Comal ISD since 2018. Prior to her current position, she held a number of positions at Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, including principal intern and interim assistant principal.

Annette Tielle is Deputy Superintendent of Del Valle ISD Comal ISD Classlink

Del Valle ISD has named its final candidate for superintendent. Annette Tielle, formerly known as Annette Villerot, is expected to be hired shortly after the June meeting. The school board will have 21 days to consider her contract before they can vote on her. She will be replacing Dr. Kelly Crook, who left in June. She has over 30 years of experience in education, including serving as an assistant superintendent of curriculum for Pflugerville ISD and Comal ISD.

Del Valle ISD has sought to hire a new superintendent to help mitigate the high property taxes in Texas. It hired executive search consultants from the Texas Association of School Boards, or TASB, to conduct the search. After a day of interviews with school staff and community members, TASB consultants outlined a profile for the new superintendent.

Del Valle ISD has recently received funding for expansion of its free preschool program. It was funded with a $750,000 grant from Travis County and the city of Austin. The money will go toward expanding the pre-K program and adding dual-language classes. With the money, the district plans to serve about 55 more kids than it did last fall.

Del Valle ISD is a school district in Texas that was founded in 1870. The district provides education to students from early elementary through twelfth grade. The school district also provides academic achievement courses for students.

Dr. Cade Smith has announced new assistant principals at New Braunfels ISD

New assistant principals are being hired by Dr. Cade Smith for the 2022-23 school year. These new hires include Mark Kosmo,Click a long-time teacher, who will lead the middle school in the district. He previously served as an assistant principal at Memorial Elementary in New Braunfels since 2017. Prior to that, he taught fifth and sixth grade math at Heritage Elementary in Southside ISD. Another new hire is Stephen Brown, who will be serving as director of safety and security at New Braunfels ISD.

Smith has more than 20 years of experience in the education field and has held various administrative positions at the district and campus level. Prior to his appointment, he served as superintendent of Brock ISD in North Texas, a fast-growing, high-performing district. He also held various leadership positions in Frisco ISD and Georgetown ISD. Prior to this, he began his career as a high school teacher, and worked in Lockhart and Kaufman ISDs before coming to New Braunfels.

The board of trustees will vote on Smith’s appointment following a 21-day waiting period. He will begin his tenure in late May or early June. He is looking forward to working with the community of New Braunfels.
