The Cherry Creek Schools, also known as the Cherry Creek Public Schools, are based in western Arapahoe County, Colorado. The district’s superintendent is Christopher Smith, who recently announced his retirement. His last day as superintendent was January 22, 2021. The district is in need of a new superintendent.

Amy Ahlgrim is one such person. While she isn’t always willing to in the spotlight, her work for the school district is focused on students and ensuring that every student has an opportunity to succeed. Several notable individuals and organizations have recognized her efforts, including Eli Mahnken, whose drawing of an aspiring racer reads “I can run.”

Facilities

Cherry Creek Schools is launching a new facility in Greenwood Village. This facility will be a cutting-edge college and career readiness center that will prepare high school students for rewarding careers. The curriculum will focus on real-world skills and will include the option to earn trade certifications. The new campus will designed to mimic state-of-the-art work environments and encourage a work-based culture.

Scholarships

Cherry Creek schools have an extensive scholarship program, designed to support high school seniors and provide additional funds for post-high school training. Students can apply for scholarships based on merit, community service, religion, and other factors. Applicants must submit a brief essay and letter of recommendation. A committee reviews the application and selects the winning student.

Students with high academic achievement are also encourage to apply for membership in the National Honor Society. This honor society focuses on character development, service, and leadership. Career & Job Fair

The Cherry Creek Schools Career & Job Fair is a great opportunity for students and parents to learn about a variety of careers. The event is held every year at the district’s Innovation Campus, and it will feature information on different career pathways. Students will also learn about local businesses and attend informative breakout sessions.

The event is free and open to all CCSD students. It is sponsored the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation. All students are invite to attend and showcase their creativity.
